There is nothing like a good book!  

As an avid reader, I tend to frequently have my nose in a book.  It was on one such occasion that I began to notice my current “read” contained such detailed descriptions of all the characters and settings, that I could not only visualize them, but smell them as well!

The idea to create candles that reflected my favorite author’s characters came to me as I was chatting with a good friend.  How neat would it be to sit back with your favorite book and be surrounded by the scents you are reading about?  What a fantastic way to relax and escape into your favorite story!

So Tartan Candle Company was born in my tiny kitchen in lovely Grapevine, Texas.  With the amazing support of my family and friends, who never tired of all of my endless questions or wafting endless scents beneath their noses, I developed ideas that helped me create these wonderful candles.  In creating these inspired candles, I discovered there were so many other captivating scents to enjoy that I expanded the original idea to include all of my favorite holidays and seasons as well.

It is my hope that Tartan Candles will bring forth the cherished memories of your favorite seasons, holidays, books and characters. With Tartan Candles I offer you hand-poured, highly scented candles with unique ribbons and charms to fill your home with the scents you’ve read, remember, and love; and to also provide you with unique and charming gifts for family and friends.
